Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hello there,
I understand how important it is to keep everything intact when moving to a new laptop. The issue usually happens because Outlook stores your data locally in a PST file unless you’re using an account that syncs to the cloud like Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com. If your old setup was standalone, you’ll need to export that PST file and import it on the new laptop. Here’s what you can do: open Outlook on the old laptop, go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export, choose “Export to a file,” select Outlook Data File (.pst), and include Mail, Contacts, and Calendar. Save that file to a USB or cloud drive. On the new laptop, install Outlook, go to the same Import/Export option, and choose “Import from another program or file” to bring everything back.
Is your old Outlook connected to Microsoft 365 or just a local account?
