I have the desired permissions that of Workflow Admin, Purview Admin, etc. and yet I am not able to create a new workflow in Purview. I get an error that says - Workflow.WorkflowDefinitionError.WorkflowDefinitionAuthorizationError.TenantNotAllowedToCreateOrUpdateWorkflow Message: Tenant f58dc6bf-8d49-4816-bb44-257ae0a1ec43 does not have permission to access workflow

Please advise.

    Hi @PPA Ankush Nimbargi ,

The error TenantNotAllowedToCreateOrUpdateWorkflow is important here. Since you already have Workflow Admin and Purview Admin permissions, this does not appear to be simply a missing user-role issue.

The message specifically says that the tenant does not have permission to access the workflow capability. So adding more Purview roles to your account might not resolve it.

Please check Settings > Roles and scopes in the Microsoft Purview portal and confirm that your Workflow-related permissions are active for the correct account/tenant.

If the permissions are already correctly assigned and you still receive the same TenantNotAllowedToCreateOrUpdateWorkflow error, I recommend opening a Microsoft Support request and providing:

    • Tenant ID
    • Screenshot of the error
    • Workflow you are trying to create
    • Your assigned Purview roles
    • Exact error: TenantNotAllowedToCreateOrUpdateWorkflow

This will allow Microsoft to verify why the workflow capability isn't available for the tenant.
