Shared Outlook calendar not showing events on google more than 6 months in advance

I have shared my Outlook calendar with google and added it to my Wix website. Google shows events up to six months. It will not show events more than six months out. I am not using Microsoft 360, just Microsoft Office 2024 version. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, Nick Hawks

The published Outlook calendar link only covers a limited window of dates, so Google can't show events that aren't in the feed in the first place.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

First, check the feed itself. Sign in to Outlook on the web, go to Settings > Calendar > Shared calendars, and copy the ICS link (not the HTML one). Paste it into your browser to download the file, then open it in Notepad and look for an event that's more than six months out. If it's not in the file, Google can't show it.

If those events are missing, it is suggested that you skip the link and use an app that connects straight to your Outlook account. For example, the Events Calendar app in the Wix App Market can sync Outlook events directly, so your website doesn't depend on Google's subscription.

As a stopgap, you can upload the downloaded .ics file to Google Calendar (Settings > Import & export). It will show the far-out events, but it's a one-time snapshot, so you'd have to repeat it when things change.

Outlook can be configured to publish more months of free/busy calendar information than the default limit. In classic Outlook, change the publishing range for Calendar free/busy data:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Go to File > Options > Calendar.
    3. In Calendar options, select Free/Busy Options.
    4. Select Other Free/Busy.
    5. Change the number in Publish <months> of Calendar free/busy information to a value greater than 6.
    6. Select OK, then OK again to save.

For Outlook 2019, Outlook 2016, and Outlook 2013, the Other Free/Busy option may need to be restored first by creating this registry value:

    • HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar\ShowLegacySharingUX = 1 (REG_DWORD)

Important: editing the registry is risky and incorrect changes can affect Outlook or Windows. Back up the registry first.

If Publish at location is not selected, select it temporarily so the months setting becomes editable, set the number of months, and then clear it again if it was previously inactive.

This setting controls how many months of calendar free/busy information are published on the server. The provided context does not include a Google or Wix-specific setting for extending beyond six months.
