the update from Microsoft ending in 7936 has caused reproducible errors in my taskbar and some tabs in programs.

when installing the update ending in 7936 my taskbar and the File and Edit tabs in programs become unresponsive. I removed that update and everything is fine. If I overwrite the system and choose not to erase programs and data, will that glitch show up again. I would be bypassing the 7936 update?

KB5127936 is an optional preview update, it is basically an early beta release version of the November update for next month.

The optional preview updates can be hard to install sometimes, may contain bugs and there is no need to install the optional preview updates.

If that update caused the problems and you have now uninstalled the update and that resolved the problems, below that update is a switch to 'Get the latest updates as soon as they are released', disable that option and restart your PC, that will stop the optional update continually trying to install and wait for the full November update to be released.

DaveM21 I was led by a 2nd level tech to overwrite the system with an in-place repair and so far so good.
a few optional intel video components came in also.

KB5127936 is back as optional. The tech says I should install. I want to wait a bit and see that my system is working well. Were I to install the preview and the taskbar et al began intermittently, I might not know if it was the pre install os or the preview. The preview was the trigger when applied to 25h2. I did make an Aomei disc image backup or the drive, so I have a way to return to this moment. I hope what's being introduced in the preview is compatible with my system and as you noted it may be buggy. Maybe November's update might have fixes and be a little different. what do you think?
