Can Non-User Affinity iOS devices be enrolled into Defender for iOS without reaching user device limit?

Hello,

We have many non-user affinity, kiosk iOS devices in our Intune environment. They are enrolled properly and being managed today as supervised devices. We would now like to protect them using the Defender for iOS endpoint software, which has been successfully deployed to user affinity iOS devices elsewhere in the tenant.

However, each time we attempt to install the non-user affinity, kiosk devices, it requires one user to sign in. My question is whether we would run into the device limit on a user account or if there is a more proper way to utilize Defender for iOS endpoint on non-user affinity, kiosk device. If this means purchasing device based licenses for Defender, we are also open to that but I have not seen any documentation to that effect.

Thank you,

Sean
