Starting February 16, 2026, you can't create new cloud implementation projects in Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services for Dynamics 365 Finance, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, and Dynamics 365 Project Operations. New customers for these products should use the Microsoft Power Platform admin center for environment and project management.
What changed
New Lifecycle Services project creation is frozen for new Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Project Operations customers. This change is part of the broader transition to the Power Platform admin center as the unified administration experience for these products.
When did this take effect
The freeze on new Lifecycle Services project creation took effect on February 16, 2026. A code freeze was implemented in January 2026 to prepare for this change.
Who is affected
This change affects new customers and tenants who start new cloud implementation projects for the following products:
- Dynamics 365 Finance
- Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
- Dynamics 365 Project Operations
Who isn't affected
The following scenarios aren't affected by this change:
- Existing customers who already have active Lifecycle Services projects can continue to use them.
- Dynamics 365 Commerce projects continue to be created in Lifecycle Services.
- AX 2012 upgrade projects are unaffected.
- On-premises implementations can still create Lifecycle Services projects as needed.
- Tenant-to-tenant migrations need a Lifecycle Services project.
What to do instead
New customers should use the Power Platform admin center to manage their Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Project Operations environments. The Power Platform admin center provides a unified administration experience for these products.
Existing customers can use the self-service migration feature, now available in public preview, to move management of eligible environments from Lifecycle Services to the Power Platform admin center. Migration is a one-way, per-environment operation. For preparation, limitations, and step-by-step instructions, see Migrate finance and operations environments from Lifecycle Services to Power Platform admin center.
Exception process
If you have a business-critical need to create a new Lifecycle Services project, you can submit an exception request through the Lifecycle Services Project Creation Exception form. Microsoft reviews exception requests on a case-by-case basis. Approval isn't guaranteed and depends on the specific circumstances of the request.
